Our mission is to promote an effective accident and illness prevention program to protect the safety and health of all County employees by:

• Promoting and maintaining a progressive education program to increase the awareness of and commitment to employee safety and health at all levels.
• Developing policies and procedures to comply with occupational safety and health regulations.
• Recognizing and evaluating potential workplace hazards and recommending corrective actions.
• Assisting County departments in reducing injuries and illnesses which affect associated workers’ compensation costs.
• Establishing mutual working relationships with County departments, contractors and regulatory agencies.
• Creating a positive attitude towards safety and health principles and practices.
