SCERS Purchasable Service Credit

Some participants may have the option of purchasing additional service through the Sacramento County Employees Retirement System (SCERS).  While this program is not part of the 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan, often times participants use the funds built up in the Deferred Compensation Plan to purchase additions service credit at SCERS.

There are six types of purchasable service which may be credited to your account.

1. Redeposits

2. Premembership

3. Temporary Service Between Two Periods of SCERS Membership

4. Medical Leave of Absence/State Disability Insurance (SDI)

5. Family Medical Leave

6. Public Service Credit

Additional Retirement Credit (ARC)
