How to Enroll
Full-Time 457(b) Plan
|
You may enroll in
the 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan either by phone or on the internet.
Before you log on or make the phone call, you should consider a few things:
1. Decide
How Much to Contribute.
Decide what amount of
your salary you would like to contribute. All deductions must be in whole
dollars. The total amount you contribute on a pretax basis is subject to the
annual IRS dollar limit. The current limits are $15,500 for those under age 50
and up to $20,500 for those who will be 50 or older this calendar year. If you
are eligible for special catch up provisions, you may be able to contribute even
more by signing up for the 3 Year Limited Catch-Up Program.
2. Choose
your Investment Options.
Select specific investment options from those available. You can review your
options by contacting Fidelity Investments at
1-800-343-0860 or
www.fidelity.com/atwork
All elections must be in whole percentages and total 100% (e.g., 33%, 33%, 34%).
3. Select
a PIN.
Before you can
enroll in your plan, you must establish a personal identification number (PIN).
Your PIN must be 6 to 12 characters in length; it cannot be your Social Security
number, Customer ID, or date of birth; and it cannot be a sequential or
repeating number or letter (e.g., 123456 or 777777).
You will need your date of birth
and ZIP code in order to establish your PIN.
You will also be asked to choose
a security question. When you forget your PIN, this question will help confirm
your identity for PIN reset.
Be sure to choose a PIN that’s
easy to remember, because you’ll need it each time you call or go on line to
access your account.
